Sligo based, Irish traditional group The Border Collies are now in full swing with the promotion of their debut album entitled: “The Border Collies - Unleashed”.
After a series of launches throughout the August bank holiday weekend 2004, the Collies unleashed this eagerly awaited album on their legion of followers.
The CD itself captures accurately the energy the group creates at full force. This 13-track album succeeds in combining the old style Traditional Music with many modern Folk influences, making the CD more appealing to a wider audience. Their music is fresh and unique with a delicate blend of music and song, intermingled throughout the CD. The Border Collies have already been compared to the likes of Planxty and The Bothy Band, having a similar interpretation of the music and blend of instruments. The Collies are undoubtedly one of the most exciting new-comers on the Traditional scene in recent years and the release of this album is well overdue. The Border Collies sincerely invite everyone to sample their contribution to Traditional Irish/Folk Music and enjoy the vibrant varierty which has been “Unleashed” on this CD.
